21st Anniversary!

This November we are celebrating our 21st anniversary. A lot has happened in that time and our Managing Director, Robert Horn thought it would be interesting to chart some of the highlights of the last 21 years:



November 2003:

EME Power Systems is incorporated by founding Director, Robert Horn. The new company business plan states “Our mission is to ensure that we are the premier provider to industry of power distribution systems and networks. We can only achieve our goal by the continuous provision of the highest quality service and support to our customers. We place value on our clients and their requirements of ourselves, as well as our people, their knowledge and expertise”.

February 2004:

The company moves into its first business premises located in South Witham in Lincolnshire.

Spring 2005:

Continuing growth means that a steady flow of new employees commence employment with the business, Steve Myson and Carl Lane being amongst them.

November 2006:

Having outgrown the South Witham premises, the business purchases new offices and workshops in Sleaford, Lincolnshire.

December 2010:

Accreditation is granted under the Lloyds of London National Electricity Register (NERs) as an approved Independent Connections Provider (ICP).

September 2011:

EME Power Connections is incorporated as a separate legal entity under which the new ICP arm of the business is to operate.

August 2012:

EME Power Systems open an apprenticeship scheme, the company’s first apprentice, James Grigg commences his apprenticeship the following month.

July 2015:

The 300th HV metered customer signs up to an EME Power Systems HV service contract.

December 2017:

Steve Myson is invited to joint the board of directors of EME Power Connections.

May 2018:

Having successfully completed his HNC in electrical engineering, James Grigg is promoted to the Contracting Engineering team.

May 2019:

The contracting Engineering team is strengthened by the recruitment of Steve Harrison, Steve being brought in from the transformer manufacturing sector.

March 2020:

EME Power Systems continue operations as a key supplier during the Covid pandemic, assisting in ensuring that hospitals, the food industry and other essential businesses can continue with their operations.

April 2020:

EME Power Systems help new PPE and Covid response related businesses by rapidly installing new HV systems to support their endeavours.

May 2020:

The addition of Hayley Paddock strengthens the administration team.

Summer 2020:

Steve Harrison forms an informal Joint Venture with transformer importer and switchgear stockist to provide instant strategic stock of transformers and HV switchgear to support the requirements of the businesses.

August 2022:

The 700th HV metered customer chooses EME Power Systems to be their provider of HV maintenance and support services.

Spring 2023:

Early employees Steve Myson and Carl Lanes complete 18 years of continuous service with the business.

November 2024:

EME Power Systems reach a milestone 21st anniversary in the business of “being the premier provider to industry of power distribution systems and networks”.
